Review:

I shampooed my hair in quarters, working the shampoo into each section at a time. The shampoo has a very light scent (not overpowering at all). It worked in well and gave good lather. For most of the sections I only needed one shampoo to cleanse my hair....anything other that 2 shampoos I think would have resulted in significant tangling. Immediately after shampooing each section, I applied the treatment and worked it in with my fingertips so that my scalp and length of hair was well covered. I then pinned up the treatment drenched section and moved on to the next section to start shampoo. This procedure was repeated untill all my sections were shampooed and treated. I then started to rinse out the treatment in the same way (i.e. one section at a time).

The treatment although it has in protein did not tangle my hair, in fact it detangled and smoothed it out quite nicely. I was very impressed...and I'm still wondering why I stopped using this in the first place. Overall, the results were very good because I'm 8 weeks post and my hair was not tangled at all when I came out of the shower. I was able to blow dry my hair on the cool setting with no breakage!! I think I'll be looking out for this line again...unfortunately I bought it in the US and it's not so easy to find here in Canada :( If anything I'll have to check with my stylist to see if they still stock it or order it online.

New Shampooing Technique

This may not be a "new" technique per say, but I came up it out of necessity. My hair is 8 weeks post and very difficult to manage right now. I can barely get a comb through and when I do try to detangle it alot of breakage happens.

This morning instead of simply hopping in the shower and doing my shampoo, I sat down armed with a wide tooth comb and my trusty coconut oil and went to work. I divided my hair into quarters. On each quarter, I separated it into small sections and drenched the new growth with the coconut oil. I massaged it into my scalp and let it sit for a bit before combing it through. Miraculously, combing it through was a breeze! Once the section was combed through I plaited it and tucked it under.
I did lose some hair in the process, but I think it was a lot less than if I had tried to detangle after shampooing.

I think I will wash my hair in the same way (i.e. in sections). We'll see how this goes.

fast gro regimen - week 7

I wasn't able to wash my hair last week because I was too sick. I really wanted to, but knew it would be in my best interest if I just held off until I was feeling a little better. It's been 2 weeks now since my last shampoo and I had enough. I'm not completely over this cold but heck I can't go another week like this. So I washed my hair.

Products used:
Confiderm Scalp Oil
Nexxus Therappe Shampoo
Conditioned with 1/2 cup Moisturefuse and 1/2 cup Kerafuse
Leave in Conditioners - Lacio Lacio
Rollerset with water

Results:
I wasn't too excited because it's a moderate protein week in the regimen. My hair tangles with protein. I hate tangles cause it usually means more hair than necessary will be lost trying to remove the tangles. I did notice quite a bit of shedding, but it's probably because I haven't been combing my hair for most of this week. Haven't really seen any breakage so that it good. Overall okay results.

fast gro regimen - week 6

Unfortunately I was too sick to complete the week 6 regimen....bad cold, cough - the works! Will continue from week 7. *Sigh* 4 weeks to wait till my next love affair with Mizani Fulfyl.

fast gro regimen - week 5

Products used:

Prepooed with Coconut oil mixed with a little castor oil
Stopitt Hair & Scalp Treatment Shampoo
Nexxus Therappe Shampoo
Conditioned with Mizani Fulfyl
Leave in Conditioners - Lacio Lacio, Hask Placenta Leave-in
Rollerset with water

Results:
Ok I'm going to skip to the conditioner because this was the best part of my wash day. The Mizani Fulfyl was FAB-U-LOUS! My hair doesn't respond well to protein normally. As soon as I add any kind of protein it gets tangled and hard. This Fulfyl was great! My hair was very tangled from the Dandruff shampoo but you would never guess that the way the Fulfyl detangled it. I'm ecstatic!!!! I will definitely be putting this on my list of keepers.

Great results this week (because of the Fulfyl). Little shedding and minimal hair loss while setting!

Week 6 here I come.... to be continued.

fast gro regimen - week 4

this is my documentation of my experience with Kena's 13wk Fast-Gro Regimen.

Products used:
Prepooed with Hask Placenta Leave-in Treatment
Stopitt Hair & Scalp Treatment Shampoo
Nexxus Therappe Shampoo
Deep conditioned for 20 mins with Nexxus Humectress
Leave in Conditioners - Lacio Lacio
Rollerset with water and a dime sized amount of Fantasia IC Hair Polish (in pink bottle)

Results:

I would have never thought of using the Hask Placenta as a pre-poo but I trust ya Kena lol. My scalp has been itching for the past couple weeks so I decided to try a dandruff shampoo. I was a little skeptical because dandruff shampoos tend to strip my hair like nobody's business. Bf has dandruff problems so I decided to try some of his shampoo (which works really well for him). I applied a small amount of the Stopitt shampoo just to my scalp and worked it in. I was stunned. My hair did not tangle! (I have no idea what is in this stuff but it worked well...much less itching).Next I shampooed with Nexxus Therappe then deep conditioned for about 15-20 mins with the Humectress. The results were very good. My hair was easy to detangle when rinsing and very soft. After rinsing I applied the Lacio Lacio (I love this stuff...why don't they make it in a bigger bottle??) added a little hair polish and rollerset with water only. This week's results were very nice....I'm seeing progress. I was happy that my hair showed less breakage in the shower and how soft and manageable it was. If I can keep this up I can recover from the breakage I experienced earlier this year.

Week 5 here I come.... to be continued.
